JSerra CA 1st Place Bill Buettner Girls Championship Race - ASICS Clovis Cross Country Invitational 2023

JSerra High from California placed five athletes in the top 30 to win the Bill Buettner girls championship race at the 44th ASICS Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. JSerra became the first Division 4 girls program to win the championship race with 72 points and also produced the all-time Division 4 team record by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 90:32, eclipsing the 2019 standard of 90:58.6 by Sage Creek High. Santa Margarita transfer Sophie Polay was 10th in her JSerra debut in 17:52.2, Kaylah Tasser took 12th in 17:54.5, freshman Reese Holley earned 19th in 18:07.4 in her first career race at Woodward Park, Brynn Garcia secured 24th in 18:16.7 and Xavier Prep transfer Chloe Elbaz achieved 30th in 18:21.2 in her JSerra debut. Brooke O'Brien captured 61st in 19:17.7 for the Lions, with Anne Elise Packard overcoming a fall to grab 98th in 20:12.0. More videos |
