WALNUT - Whether it's on the track or roaming the hills, Mount San Antonio College has become a home away from home for Westlake's Mikey Giguere.
After helping the Warriors capture the Southern Section Div. II boys cross country team championship in November, Giguere delivered one of the most impressive performances of his track career Saturday by winning the 3,200-meter title in Div. II in 9 minutes, 16.66 seconds, with Saugus' Rodrigo Ornelas third in 9:20.58.
"I like this track. I enjoy this environment here," Giguere said. "Transitioning from cross country into track, I knew it could translate into a very successful season. With the times I had been running leading up to this, I believed I could come here and do this."
